Child’s First Visit
According to the American Dental Association, your child should first see a dentist by the age of three. Prior to that visit, we encourage you to bring your child to our office during one of your appointments, so we can get to know each other at that time.
We want your child to have a pleasant experience in our office and will begin by reviewing your child’s medical and dental history with both of you. During treatment, we would encourage you to wait in the reception area. Once your child is at ease, an oral examination of the teeth, gums and the other structures of the mouth will be completed to see how they are growing and forming.
We will clean your child’s teeth, give a fluoride treatment, if indicated, and take any necessary x-rays. Our hygienist will teach your child proper brushing techniques. |
